Luteal
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 11 June 2026
Luteal is built private by design. The personal things you track — your cycle, moods, check-ins, and notes — live on your device, not on our servers. This policy explains exactly what that means and the few limited cases where third parties are involved.
Who we are
Luteal (the “app”) is published by Make a Dent LLC (“we”, “us”, “our”). If you have any questions about this policy or your data, you can reach us at contact@make-a-dent.com.
Your data stays on your device
Everything you create or track in Luteal is stored locally on your device. We do not operate a first-party server that receives, stores, or syncs this content. That includes:
- Your cycle and period history
- Moods, check-ins, symptoms, and intensity ratings
- Written and audio notes, including future-self messages
- Your reminders, preferences, and onboarding answers
Because this data never leaves your device through us, deleting the app removes it. We cannot recover it for you, and we never see it.
Third-party services we use
To run the app we rely on a small number of trusted providers. They each receive only what they need for their specific function.
Analytics — PostHog (EU)
We use PostHog to understand how the app is used so we can improve it. PostHog collects pseudonymous usage data such as which screens you open, taps and events, your approximate device and operating system, app version, and a randomly generated analytics identifier. Our PostHog instance is hosted in the European Union. We do not send your health, cycle, mood, or note content to analytics.
Subscriptions — RevenueCat & the app stores
Subscriptions are handled by RevenueCat together with the Apple App Store or Google Play. To manage your entitlement, these services process your subscription status, purchase and renewal transactions, and an app-specific user identifier. Your payment is processed entirely by Apple or Google — we never receive or store your card or payment details.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent your personal data.
- We do not share your on-device health data with anyone.
- We do not use your data for advertising or build advertising profiles.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR or CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing.
- On-device data: you control it directly. You can clear it from within the app or by deleting the app.
- Analytics & subscription data: email us at contact@make-a-dent.com and we will action your request with the relevant provider.
Data retention
On-device data is kept until you delete it or remove the app. Analytics and subscription records are retained by our providers for as long as needed to operate the service and meet legal obligations, after which they are deleted or anonymized.
International transfers
Our analytics provider is hosted in the European Union; our subscription provider and the app stores may process data in the United States and other countries. Where data crosses borders, it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
Children
Luteal is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age required in their country (generally 13, or 16 in parts of the EU). If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including keeping your sensitive content on-device and limiting what our providers receive. No method of storage or transmission is ever completely secure, but we work to safeguard your data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above, and material changes will be reflected in the app. Your continued use of Luteal after an update means you accept the revised policy.
